Telangana govt revokes GO 111

Hyderabad: From Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi has been a long and momentous journey in the annals of Telangana State.

In power for 10 years in a row and aiming for another term, the Chief Minister and BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao is gearing up for the decennial celebrations in a big way.

KCR, sources said, will announce a series of programmes and policies and ask party legislators, MPs, and other senior party functionaries to take it to the people at a meeting to be held at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

“We will take the party programmes and policies, achievements in the past decade to the people. We have fulfilled our promises to the people and gave several new schemes which were not part of the election manifesto. Our achievements will ensure our win in the coming polls,” a senior BRS leader said.

With Congress' stunning victory in the neighboring Karnataka Assembly elections beating the formidable Bharatiya Janata Party, KCR seems to have decided to showcase the achievements of the BRS government and keep any Congress designs in Telangana for the next polls.

BJP and Congress are seriously eyeing power in Telangana State and the victory of Congress in neighboring Karnataka raised the spirits of Congressmen and women in not only Telangana but the entire country when the party was almost written off coming to power in the country.

Congressmen in Telangana too are hoping to come back to power, though it ruled undivided Andhra Pradesh for long.

However, Municipal Administration and IT Minister K T Rama Rao while welcoming Congress win in Karnataka asserted it has no such chance in Telangana!

Take achievements to people

Sources in BRS said that Chief Minister is keen to project all the achievements in a big way in the run-up to assembly elections scheduled in November this year.

KCR who has convened a meeting of the BRS legislature party, the parliamentary party, corporation chairpersons, and other top brass of the party on Wednesday will give a direction to them to take the party programmes and policies, and government achievements in the past one decade to the people. The meeting is scheduled for 2 pm on Wednesday.

The meeting will chalk out programmes to be undertaken for 21 days from June 2, the State formation day.

In fact, KCR has instructed officials to list out achievements department-wise and propagate them among people. He will give specific tasks to elected representatives.

May 17 is also significant because TRS organized a mammoth “Simha Garjana” in Karimnagar in 2001. On the same day, the BRS legislature party meeting is held at Telangana Bhavan.

Sources in BRS said besides decennial celebrations, the Chief Minister may also discuss the current political scenario in the country including the Congress win in neighboring Karnataka.
